3. How do I place an ad in the New England Journal of Medicine?
All ads must be received in writing, preferably typed. To ensure accuracy, classified ads will not be accepted over the phone. Ads may be submitted online, emailed to nejmads@nejm.org, faxed to 781-895-1045 or 781-893-5003, or mailed to the New England Journal of Medicine, Classified Advertising, 860 Winter Street, Waltham, MA 02451-1413. Be sure to include your name, address, phone number, and billing information.

4. How do I calculate the cost of a classified print line ad?
Costs of classified line ads are calculated by the word. There are three frequency rates available: run your ad 1x = $5.55 per word; 2x, 3x, or 4x = $5.10 per word; 5x or more = $4.85 per word. Boldface type is also available. There is a small web fee for advertisers interested in placing their job postings on the heavily trafficked NEJM CareerCenter website. 5. How do I use a reply box in my ad?
Confidential-reply box numbers are available for an additional $49 per insertion. Reply Box 0000, NEJM counts as four words. When a reply box is used, we will not divulge any information about the advertiser. Responses will be forwarded every Tuesday and Thursday, and the box will remain open for three months after the last appearance of your ad.

6. How is payment for an ad handled?
Purchase orders will be accepted subject to credit approval. For orders requiring prepayment, we accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and personal checks for your convenience.

7. How do I cancel an ad?
Cancellations must be confirmed in writing and may be transmitted by fax or email no later than 20 days before the issue date.

8. What is the New England Journal of Medicines policy on classified ads?
All advertisements for employment must be nondiscriminatory and comply with all applicable laws and regulations. Ads that discriminate against applicants on the basis of sex, age, race, religion, marital status, or physical handicap will not be accepted. All ads must be clearly germane to the practice of medicine. All print classified line ads are set in the same typeface (Baskerville, 7 pt. type), unless bold type is requested. 9. How can I be placed on a mailing list to receive advertising information from the New England Journal of Medicine?

10. How long do positions remain posted?
Online advertisements are posted for 30 days. Print-Plus ads are posted 2 weeks before print issue date and remain online 1 week post print date.

11. How can I renew a posting that is about to expire?
There is no way to actually renew the current job; however, you can copy it. After logging in to HR Manager, click on Jobs, Manage Current Job Ads, and then select the copy icon on the line of the job you wish to copy. From here you can make any changes to the ad, preview it, and the job will be posted within 24 hours (or the next business day).

12. How can I renew an expired posting?
There is no way to renew the expired job, however, you can copy it. To do so, login to our HR Manager, click on the Jobs tab on the top menu. Next, click on Manage Deleted Job Ads. From here you can copy your expired job. To do so, select the copy icon on the line of the job you wish to copy. From here you can make any changes to the ad, preview it, and the job will be posted within 24 hours (or the next business day).

13. How can I edit a current job posting?

14. How can I edit my employer profile?
After logging into your account at
www.nejmjobs.org, proceed to the My Account page and from the Links section, click on Edit Employer Profile. After making changes to the profile, click the Submit Changes button. Changes may take up to 48 hours to become live on the site, except on the weekends when they may take longer.

15. Why was I able to access HR Manager without entering a login name or password?
The last time you used the system you did not logout. Your cookies, the internal memory on your computer, remembered your login name and password. For security purposes, you should always click the logout link in the upper right-hand corner of HR Manager before leaving the site.

16. How can I add another user to my account?
To add additional users to your account, login to the HR Manager. Once logged in, click on Tools and then Add User at the bottom. This will prompt you for First Name, Last Name, Email, Phone, Username and Password for the user you wish to add. An email providing login information will then be sent to that user.

17. How can I remove a user from our company account?
This cannot be done online. You will need to call customer service at 800-NEJM-991 (800-635-6991).

18. I changed my company profile, but the ad still shows the old profile. Why is this?
Company profiles are indexed overnight. Your current postings will reflect your changes within 24 hours.

19. How can I use the Physician Profile search?
Once you have an active job on the system, click on Physician Profile located on the toolbar. You will then click on the link for Search Profiles. After you have entered the search criteria, a list of qualified candidates will display. From this list, select the persons underlined name or job title to see his or her full resume.

20. I posted a job, but I am still receiving the demo version of the resume database. What do I need to do now?
If you have recently posted a position but are still receiving the resume demo, please click on the logout button located in the right corner of HR Manager. Once you login again, your access will be enabled.
