Physician employment contracts haven’t changed markedly in recent years, but certain trends in contract terms, especially regarding compensation structure, job termination, and malpractice tail coverage, warrant close scrutiny today. On the positive side, non-compete clauses have become more physician friendly, but physicians should be on the lookout for potentially problematic terms in other areas.
